The Pakistan army committed a bloodcurdling genocide in Hossainpur Bazaar of Kishoreganj Upazila on 17 August 1971. They surrounded the Bazaar and picked up men and women from every Hindu house to the bank of the river Brahmaputra. At least 146 people were killed. Even pregnant women did not get mercy from them. They threw the little children to the river.
They picked up four adolescent girls sexually abused them.

Bokul Rani Sarkar was pregnant for 8 months. She was shot and her body was floated on the river. But luckily, she survived. Even she gave birth to a daughter after two months. But the child was born as a handicapped due to the bleeding she had previously. The child could not walk or talk. Bokul Rani Sarkar has given the testimony of that genocide.
