Bidyanagar, a village of Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj district was attacked by the Pakistan army and Rajakars at the end of October/ early November 1971- it was the month of holy Ramadan. Pakistan army took the position in the outside of the village and the Rajakars entered the village. A young man from Bidyanagar joined the Mukti Bahini. His house became the main target of the attackers. They burned down the house and killed five unarmed men. This was the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.

Two witnesses testified about this brutal incident. The first witness Mujibur Rahman was a child, but he recognized his father's murderers. He testified against the perpetrators in the International Crimes Tribunal. The other witness was Kamala Khatun whose husband and father-in-law were killed in this incident.
